Hey I'm Chris. I Wasn’t Supposed To Be Here.
On tour in Afghanistan, we’d already lost lads. For weeks, my team and I rotated four hours on, four off - clearing roads of explosive devices so convoys could pass. It was relentless, and the other team on shift rotation kept getting hit. Somehow, we didn’t.
One day, Ollie - my guy on the left - picked up a signal on his metal detector. I told him to start scraping. He stopped when he uncovered a thick plastic bag.
That’s when I noticed it - a two-inch trench running from his position across to my left. It stopped at a rock with wires underneath.
“Stop. Move back.”
In that moment I thought, fuck, one more step and i'm a goner.. But I stayed calm, pulled the team back, and called in EOD.
We climbed to the high ground to wait, and I remember us lying back in the sun as if it was just another day. I even laughed to myself, my mum would kill me if she knew what just happened.
It should have been the end. But it wasn’t.
And that moment cemented something in me: stay calm, have a plan, execute, and carry on — no matter the risks ahead.
The Moment Everything Changed
Years later, when my second son, Cole, was about to be born, I faced a different kind of mission.
I’d already missed too much of Troy’s early years. My relationship at home was at breaking point.
A month before Cole arrived, I drew a line in the sand: no more contracts overseas, no more missing milestones. I wasn’t willing to trade fatherhood for another contract.
That moment marked the line in the sand. It was time to come home — for good.

From Desperation to Discovery
But coming home didn’t make things easier.
I chased every “make money online” scheme I could find. I blew thousands on affiliate media buys. I got scammed for £5,000. I paid the mortgage with credit cards. I was desperate.
Then I discovered something that changed everything: the customer journey.
For the first time, I realised marketing wasn’t about tricks or tactics. It was about building a system - guiding people from stranger to customer with clarity.
I became obsessed with learning it all and applying it.
The Climb
My first business - a dropshipping store - failed. A year of work, every course I could buy, and nothing to show for it.
By the end, I was down to my last ÂŁ1,000. The credit cards were maxed. The mortgage was being paid on borrowed money. I was broke and running out of time.
But I didn’t quit. I started helping people online for free - setting up campaigns, building funnels, getting results. That’s when I launched Chris Bedford Consulting.
My first paying client changed everything.
I’d chased him for six months, showing him my system, explaining how it would work. When he finally said yes, it proved this could be real.
From there, I fought for client number two. Then three. Five. Ten. Fifteen. Each one a new milestone.
Along the way, I built partnerships, expanded what I offered, and step by step grew into what is now Chris Bedford Digital.
From my home office, I moved into real offices. From a solo operator, I hired my first employee.
And through it all, one thing never changed: service.
The Mission Today
My mission is simple:
To give business owners the same thing I fought for in every stage of my life - clarity, freedom, and peace of mind.
Through Chris Bedford Digital, we build complete Growth Engines: offers that convert, funnels that work, traffic that scales, and the systems to track it all.
But it’s bigger than business.
It’s about showing my kids what’s possible.
It’s about building a legacy that lasts.
It’s about elevating others - giving them the systems, confidence, and results that change not just their company, but their life.
I shouldn’t even be here. But I am.
And if you’re ready to finally build the system that lets you scale with clarity and freedom, I’m here to help you do it.
